Good Shepherd Catholic School, Rasmussen is a Catholic co-educational school offering Prep to Year 6. About the role

Good Shepherd Catholic School, Rasmussen is seeking an experienced and dedicated Administration Officer- Student Reception to commence on Monday 9 June 2025 and concluding on Friday 5 December 2025. This is a Term Time, Fixed Term position working 5 days per week, 4 hours a day for a total of 20 hours a week.

The Administration Officer will be required to liaise with visitors, parents, staff and students to the School and is responsible for providing high level administrative support demonstrating self-initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, autonomy and dependability. The incumbent will present a professional image and create a welcoming, warm and positive impression. As the initial point of contact for many key stakeholders, the Administration Officer will deliver high quality customer service.

Key Accountabilities

Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with reception and administration including:

Oversee student reception

Provide support to parent reception

Mail management and distribution

Responding to incoming telephone and email enquiries

Dealing professionally with and directing enquiries of parents, visitors and contractors

Data entry to support registers and record management.

Provide administration support that meets the day to day requirements of the school including:

Co-ordinate dissemination of information to staff and students

Production of documents – letters, registers, spreadsheets

Assist in the production of internal and external documents

Sort, prepare and file documents as required

Coordinate banking and receipting of items.

Support the delivery of tasks associated with community events and school functions

Responsible for following up on outstanding retreat, camp and excursion payments

Administer first aid where necessary

Monitor inventory for stationery and first aid supplies

Jointly oversee Uniform Shop

Interchangeable with Student Reception when required

About you

Experience

Previous experience providing generalist administrative support

Demonstrated capacity to organise and prioritise a range of tasks and set priorities to meet deadlines in a busy office environment

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver support

Proven ability in providing accurate and informative assistance to staff, students and parents confidently.

Skills

Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new ideas with enthusiasm

Strong computer literacy skills with the ability to operate a variety of platforms and programs including Google and Microsoft Office (especially excel spreadsheets)

Organisational planning and coordination skills including the ability to demonstrate flexibility and manage demanding or competing deadlines.

Mandatory Criteria

Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government

Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience

First Aid Certificate or the ability to attain one

Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.

Desirable Criteria

Recent administration and/or reception experience in a school or other environment.
