About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, Senior Cook or Chef to lead kitchen operations at our aged care facility. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with no weekends or split shifts.

You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, including texture-modified dishes (IDDSI levels), and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our elderly residents.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals, including IDDSI texture-modified diets

Plan and create daily and weekly menus

Ensure the kitchen is stocked, clean, and organised before service

Supervise and coordinate kitchen and support staff

Maintain high food presentation standards

Handle food deliveries, stock rotation, and wastage reporting

Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and cleaning schedules

Ensure portion control and quality checks across all meals

Operate within a food budget and complete stock control duties

Required Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Senior Cook or Chef, ideally in aged care or healthcare

Strong knowledge of texture-modified foods and IDDSI framework

Proven leadership and kitchen coordination experience

Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)

Ability to follow standard recipes and maintain consistency

Experience with kitchen equipment, tools, and safety procedures

Relevant culinary qualification and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (preferred)
