EEVS SYDNEY PTY LTD t/a Expert Education and Visa Services, is a well-established education and visa consultancy firm. We are currently seeking a full-time Accountant to join our team, with the role based in Sydney, NSW. This position is 38 hours per week, and the ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience and hold a master's degree in accounting. A competitive salary of $82,500, plus superannuation, is on offer.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Preparation and Reporting of Financial Statements:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with accounting standards (AASB).
Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to internal stakeholders, such as management, directors, and shareholders.
Regulatory Compliance and Taxation:
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements for GST, FBT, and the Superannuation Guarantee.
Assist in ensuring compliance with the Corporations Act 2001 and any other regulatory requirements related to annual ASIC Reviews.
Assess Payroll Tax on a monthly basis and reconcile and apportion the liability to grouped entities annually.
Assist in the preparation and filing of company tax returns and maintain detailed records of tax liabilities.
Ensure ATO’s Income Tax Accounts and Integrated Client accounts are appropriately monitored.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and identify opportunities for tax minimisation.
Audit Preparation and Coordination:
Prepare for internal and external audits by organising and providing necessary documentation.
Coordinate with external auditors to ensure the audit process is efficient and timely.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Internal Control:
Assist in preparing and reviewing budgets and forecasts to provide accurate financial projections and identify areas for improvement.
Provide financial data and insights to support strategic decision-making by management.
Analyse financial performance, including variance analysis (actual vs budget), profitability, and cost controls.
Assist in the development and implementation of improvements to accounting processes and systems for better efficiency. This includes knowledge of accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, Stripe, etc.
Risk Management:
Identify financial risks and propose ways to mitigate them, including proper internal controls and risk assessment procedures.
Ensure the business is covered with necessary insurance, i.e., Icare for employees, business loss, and cyber security insurance.
Team Supervision and Other Administrative Duties:
Provide support to junior accounting staff and assist in training or reviewing their work.
Ensure the team’s performance reviews and appraisals are conducted on time.
Oversee the incentive schemes in place and advise on any improvements.
