Trepang Fisheries is seeking dedicated, hardworking individuals to join our team as qualified divers and deckhands for the upcoming beche-de-mer season starting in Innisfail NQ on 26th June 2025.

About the Roles:

Divers: Paid a percentage of the catch. Responsibilities include operating and managing the tender, maintaining equipment, and hand-collecting and processing beche-de-mer (sea cucumber) using Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus.

Requirements: Rescue Diver (minimum), Current Dive Medical AS/NZ2299, First Aid Certificate, CPR & Advanced Resuscitation, and a Marine Licence or higher.

Experience in Crayfish, Abalone, or Pearling fisheries is an advantage but not essential.

Deckhands: Minimum starting pay of $325 per fishing day. Ideal for young, fit individuals eager to work hard and learn about the fishing industry. Duties include assisting with catch processing, vessel maintenance, and supporting crew activities.

A Marine Licence is beneficial but not essential. This role can lead to diving for the right candidate.
