About the role

As a Bus Driver / Deckhand at Torres Strait Tours Pty Limited, you will play a crucial role in providing transportation and support for the company's operations. This full-time position is based on Thursday Island, Queensland, offering the opportunity to be part of an exciting and vibrant regional business.

What you'll be doing

Safely operate buses to transport passengers around Thursday Island , Horn Island Airport transfers neighbouring regions

Assist with loading and unloading passenger luggage and equipment

Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for all passengers

Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on the company's vehicle fleet

Support the deck operations on the company's boats as needed

Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver reliable and efficient services

What we're looking for

A current, valid heavy vehicle driver's licence (LHR MR or above)

Experience driving buses or other heavy vehicles in a tourism or transportation setting

Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

Familiarity with regional geography and the ability to follow safe driving routes

Physical fitness and the capacity to assist with loading/unloading boats and equipment

Must have, or be able to obtain, a Queensland Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation
