About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Time Maintenance Handyperson to join the opening team of Caption by Hyatt Sydney. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient operation of all hotel maintenance activities, supporting both guest-facing and back-of-house areas. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager to carry out maintenance, safety, and preventative tasks that contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues alike.

As part of the pre-opening team, you will also play a key role in preparing the hotel for opening, assisting with systems testing, contractor handovers, equipment setup, and ensuring all plant and infrastructure is guest ready.

What you will bring to the role:

· A trade qualification or demonstrated experience in hotel or building maintenance – highly desired, but open to training up the right person!

· Sound understanding of plant operations, preventative maintenance, and safety systems

· Ability to read and understand operation manuals and work independently on maintenance tasks

· High standards of personal presentation and a commitment to guest satisfaction

· Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work flexibly across departments

· Full Australian work rights, with willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays

· A proactive approach to learning and growth in a dynamic hotel environment
