The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Technician with specialised expertise in concrete admixtures and waterproofing to join our team. This role is critical to supporting our mission of delivering high-performance concrete waterproofing solutions for civil engineering projects, including drainage, water supply, sewerage systems, roads, bridges, and other structures. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to conduct material tests, prepare and maintain technical documentation, and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.

Principal Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to the Technical Engineer and Technical Department, and distributors, in the use and application of Xypex products and solutions.

Support the sales team by providing technical expertise for product presentations, tenders, and client meetings.

Preparation of technical documentation, including product specifications and application instructions.

Assist with on-site evaluations, product demonstrations, and training sessions for clients and contractors.

Perform fieldwork and laboratory testing of construction materials, with a focus on concrete admixtures and waterproofing solutions.

Interpret work assignment instructions, apply appropriate procedures, and select specialised equipment for testing and implementation of concrete technologies.

Collect and analyse data, carry out computations, and estimate material costs to ensure projects meet specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.

Conduct field and laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, with an emphasis on evaluating the performance of concrete admixtures and waterproofing systems.

Inspect civil engineering works, assist the team with maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with performance-based standards.

Contribute to a zero-harm and incident-free environment through active participation in safety and quality improvement programs.

Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project requirements are met.

Use technology and apps to report daily achievements and maintain accurate records.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate you meet the following criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, material science, or a related field.

At least 3 years experience as a Civil Engineering Technician or similar, with specialised expertise in concrete admixtures and waterproofing technologies.

Demonstrated ability to conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials, particularly concrete and waterproofing systems.

Experience in preparing sketches, plans, and technical documentation for civil engineering projects.

Practical experience in interpreting work instructions, selecting appropriate equipment, and applying procedures for concrete testing and implementation.

Ability to estimate material costs and ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.

Experience in inspecting civil engineering works and supervising maintenance and repair activities.

Proven ability to provide high-standard customer service to clients and stakeholders.

In-depth understanding of concrete admixtures, waterproofing technologies, and their application in civil engineering projects.

Excellent communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to work proactively, show initiative, and perform duties with minimal supervision.

Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and comfort using technology and apps for reporting.

Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
