Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Civil Engineer Technician to join our team at Civil Choice Excavation & Demolition P/L, a leading company specializing in demolition and excavation projects. The Civil Engineer Technician will be responsible for providing technical support in the planning, design, execution, and maintenance of civil engineering works such as drainage systems, water supply, sewerage reticulation, roads other infrastructure. This role involves conducting relevant tests in relation to proposed demolition sites and projects to assist the work of other engineering professionals and our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyse the respective demolition or excavation site to understand the nature of the proposed work.

Prepare detailed sketches and plans to assist for the engineering and demolition/excavation project managers to identify drainage systems, water supply, electrical and other relevant factors to perform the work.

Supervise and review the fieldwork and material testing related to demolition and excavation work.

Collect, analyse and interpret data relevant to civil engineering projects to ensure compliance.

In preparing plans, estimate costs and budgets in respect of materials, labour, equipment and clearance and assess required resources, and ensure that the finished works are within budget and contract provisions.

Inspect ongoing and completed excavation and demolition engineering works to ensure compliance with plan specifications, regulations, and safety standards. Monitor construction progress and quality control during project execution.

Organize and assist in the maintenance and repair work for civil engineering structures, ensuring that they remain functional and safe over time.

Compile reports on project progress, test results, inspections, and other relevant data. Maintain accurate records of field and laboratory activities, ensuring they are readily available for review by senior engineers or project managers.

Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

At least 1 year of relevant experience in Civil Engineering design, testing, and inspection.

Familiarity with civil engineering software and tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).

Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Experience in field and laboratory testing of materials, including soils, concrete, and construction materials.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
