About the Role

The main responsibility of the Student Information Reporting Officer is to collect, analyse and report accurate and up to date information related to all aspects of student data and records.

The role involves working closely with staff to ensure that student information is properly managed, reported and complies with applicable legislation, education standards and policies.

The Student Information Reporting Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data, as well as providing relevant reports and analysis to support informed decision-making in the School.

This role is for long service leave cover and is required from 16 June 2025 to to 27 June and 21 July to 26 September 2025.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities in relation to the position include, but are not limited to the following:

General Information Management and Reporting

Liaise with the Student Services Team Leader to maintain accuracy of student data (e.g. enrolment, attendance, marks, demographics and achievements) in information systems, such as SEQTA, Synergetic and Edval, and ensure consistent collection, storage and organisation.

Generate relevant reports on student information to comply with relevant legal, regulatory and School requirements, including privacy laws and confidentiality policies.

Assist in analysing data and generating reports to aid School decision making by identifying trends, patterns, discrepancies and areas of improvement, assessing needs and tracking performance.

Communicate relevant student data to effectively coordinate and integrate information across sub-schools and departments.

Specific Information Management and Reporting

Provide student/family demographic information to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (“SCSA”).

Co-ordinate the delivery of NAPLAN and OLNA testing, the reporting of and recording of results and communication of any further testing required.

Comply with the reporting requirements of SCSA’s Student Information Records System (“SIRS”) activities schedule, uploading of courses, student results, subject changes, endorsed programs, EALD declarations, small group moderation schedule, proposed grades distribution and WACE tracking.

Implement and facilitate the use of SRMS for P-10 achievement collection using the mandated learning area and context codes.

Ensure student semester reports are released and archived via SEQTA.

Provide administrative support associated with the reporting requirements of delivering Externally Set Tasks (“ESTs”), School based and WACE exams and endorsed programs, such as CareerLink, Vocational Education and Training (“VET”) and Workplace Learning.

Distribute previous year’s student results to Heads of Sub Schools and Departments

Prepare and co-ordinate Parent Teacher Interview data and communication.

Ensure Student Background Data (“SBD”) reporting requirements of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (“ACARA”) are met.

Comply with the reporting requirements of the Australian Government’s Department of Education.

Provide administrative support to assist with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (“NCCD”) reporting requirements for students with a disability.

Collect from staff and collate information about students’ cocurricular and extracurricular activities with a view to retrieving such information for inclusion in student reports.

Qualifications and Experience

Proficient in:

Using data management tools to collect, analyse and report data.

High level data reporting, analysis and problem solving.

Developing and managing timelines and deliverables effectively and efficiently.

Providing optimal administrative support within the education sector.

Using Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

Current Working with Children Check.

A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check current to within 6 months prior to commencement of employment at St Mark’s.

Knowledge of SEQTA and/or Synergetic, SCSA requirements and using SIRS is highly desirable.
