We are currently partnering with our long-term client in the insurance space in adding a forward-thinking, strategic and senior Fleet Manager to their existing teams.

This is a unique position that will see you taking ownership of governance, process design and implementation and contract management activities across a fleet management function.

Become responsible for a large fleet transition project whilst partnering with Change Managers, Business Leaders and external stakeholders to achieve project deliverables and goal in this autonomous position within a market-leading organisation!

The Role

  • Oversee the strategic and operation management of a Fleet, ensuring optimal performance, value for money and alignment with organisational goals
  • Develop and maintain a new Fleet framework, incorporating new policy and process, cost efficiencies, sustainability goals and commercial strategies that are aligned with company objectives
  • Lead collaboration with subject matter experts to define principles and develop operational framework for transitioning the fleet to electric vehicles, identifying emerging requirements, considerations and potential issues
  • Mange the performance of an outsourced fleet provider, ensuring contract obligations are being met, compliance, SLA delivery and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular governance meetings with external fleet provider and internal stakeholders to monitor performance, addressing operational issues or concerns
  • Oversee the transition of current fleet to electric vehicles, working in-line with agreed timeframes and corporate commitments, including internal communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Review and updated internal Fleet Policy, ensuring adherence - reporting business units and leadership where required
  • Contribute towards the continuous improvement of fleet processes, analysing workflows to identify inefficiencies
  • Take ownership of streamlining operations and improving effectiveness, implementing SLAs to ensure enhanced service, delivery and efficiency
  • Proactively engage and build partnerships with business stakeholders to forecast Fleet demand, planning vehicle provisioning and coordinate the offboarding or disposal of vehicles as operational needs change
  • Track and report Total Cost of Ownership, including monthly spend, budget alignment, invoice reconciliation and correct cost allocation
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with Cost Centre Managers to forecast and plan annual Fleet expenditure
  • Maintain accurate fleet asset data and records in coordination with the fleet provider, ensuring effective asset lifecycle management

You will need:

  • Experience in a senior fleet management role, with proven experience in managing external fleet provider contracts and obligations is essential
  • Expertise in building frameworks, governance processes and fleet management policies on a centralised and national basis is critical for this role
  • This role would suit candidates that have been in solely fleet-management focussed positions, that have taken complete ownership of fleet management activities, processes and frameworks whilst also managing external fleet provider contract
  • Candidates with experience in fleet transformation projects would be highly-regarded
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills are critical for this role
  • Expertise in the financial management of fleet activities and processes, being able to forecast, report and identify additional costs
