Position Summary

The General Manager will lead Ryno Refrigeration with a strategic mindset and operational precision. This pivotal role demands a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day operations, drive business growth, and uphold our standards of excellence in service delivery and technical performance. You will be instrumental in shaping company culture, developing our team, and fostering strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan aligned with long-term business objectives.

Identify and pursue growth opportunities across South East Queensland and beyond.

Drive innovation and service diversification in line with market trends.

Business Development

Lead client acquisition and retention efforts, building strong commercial relationships.

Oversee tender preparation, contract negotiation, and service-level agreements.

Promote Ryno Refrigeration’s brand and values across all market interactions.

Operational Excellence

Oversee all aspects of service delivery, project execution, and maintenance schedules.

Implement efficient systems and processes to improve service timelines and profitability.

Monitor and manage KPIs, budgets, and cost-control strategies.

Team Building and Development

Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technicians, apprentices, and administrative staff.

Champion a safe, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.

Facilitate training programs and ongoing professional development.

Industry Knowledge & Leadership

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian Standards, industry trends, and compliance.

Represent the company in industry forums, networks, and technical associations.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and environmental regulations.

Corporate Governance

Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and WHS obligations.

Manage risk, ethical conduct, and internal policies aligned with best practice.

Work closely with directors to ensure transparent and sound decision-making.

Stakeholder Relations

Serve as a key contact for clients, government agencies, suppliers, and contractors.

Build and maintain trust-based relationships that support long-term business success.

Provide regular reports to directors on operational performance and strategic progress.

Quality Control

Maintain stringent quality assurance processes for installation, service, and repairs.

Ensure all works meet or exceed regulatory and client expectations.

Promote continuous improvement through audits and client feedback mechanisms.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 10 years' experience in the refrigeration, HVAC, or mechanical services industry, with at least 5 in a leadership or general management capacity.

Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Certificate III or higher).

Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL) and White Card required.

Relevant business or management qualification (e.g., Diploma of Business, MBA preferred).

Demonstrated experience in managing P&L, budgets, and strategic business plans.

Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Queensland Building and Construction regulations.
