Join a well well-established Australian manufacturing Group in the building and construction sector - that engineers and designs, manufactures (and installs) a range of “made to order” / bespoke products, systems and solutions for their customers in the Commercial project sector (retail, hospitals, education, high rise office etc). The company provides and ensures high product performance, operational functionality, and aesthetic requirements for today’s modern building architecture.

Reporting to the MD, as GM, and a member of the Companies Group Executive Leadership team, your role will be to continue to drive and build this medium sized business – taking it to the next level of success by proactively leading, developing and managing your team to achieve set company objectives, sales revenue and profit margins. “Leading from the front”, you will be involved in all aspects of sales, marketing, operations, developing and executing future business strategic initiatives, working closely with your team and profit centre. Specifically, you will be involved in sales, managing key customers and relationships, manufacturing and operations (driving lean manufacturing principles), overseeing tenders, contracts, and project management, process improvement & operational efficiencies, OH & S, finance, training and development, as well as continuing to foster the ongoing cultural change in the business promoting responsibility, accountability and development.

The ideal Executive will be tertiary qualified and have a proven Profit Centre / General Management background in successfully building on medium to large sized manufacturing, construction & sales operations ($60M+) with “made to order or customized engineered products / systems” [in an end-to-end environment ie managing medium sized commercial projects and installations] in the commercial building and construction sector. Experience gained in external building systems well regarded – metal, glass, wood, concrete. You will have demonstrated: leading, motivating, influencing and managing medium to large sized teams (ideally including construction project management teams), building, consolidating, rebuilding and or leveraging new business / commercial opportunities, encouraging a process improvement culture, being “hands on”, entrepreneurial, analytical and strategic, commercially savvy, involvement in new product design and development or sourcing, being well organized with strong construction project management skills, being computer literate (ie Excel, ERP systems), and enjoy driving and building businesses.
