Mother Duck Childcare and Kindergarten is an organisation which is proud to be making a significant contribution to advancing early childhood education, in Queensland and beyond, with its pioneering approach to teaching and learning. Based on the principles of the world-renowned Reggio Emilia Educational Project and informed by the inquiry learning approach, our curriculum is supported by an owner operated franchisee, a nominated supervisor, a pedagogical co-ordinator and an organisational head of curriculum.

Role Description

This is an on-site position located minutes from the scenic Manly Harbour in a converted Queenslander home, that provides a beautiful setting for educating and caring for young children. We are currently looking to appoint additional educators to support our already well established team, with both a part time and a full time position available.

Key Responsibilities:

To be actively involved in the development of an age appropriate program that alights each child's investigation, physical, emotional and social wellbeing;

Collaborate with the team to complete documentation of children's development and learning;

Collaborate with the team in providing a haven for children to feel safe and secure;

Collaborate with the team to provide children with a clean, save and inviting learning environment;

Engage in professional and respectful communication with families, children and the Studio team;

Assist in Studio Meetings / Professional conversations.

Contribute to the philosophy of the educational curriculum and actively live the values and vision of the centre and Mother Duck;

Support your peers in striving for high quality curriculum, practices and environments;

Collaborate with the centre team at professional conversations to extend and deepen our understanding of child development.

Skills and Experience:

Certificate 111 in Children’s Services, working towards, or happy to study;

Current Working with Children Check;

Current First aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain;

Current approved anaphylaxis and asthma management certificates;

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Passionate about providing quality care and education to children

Previous experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a kindergarten or childcare setting is prefered but not essential
