The Role

At Balgownie Estate, you’ll oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring high-quality service, fostering a positive work environment, and maintaining our reputation for excellence. You will lead and motivate a dynamic team, collaborate with the kitchen to ensure consistency, and contribute to the success of our premium dining experiences.

During your role, you will:

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction
• Lead, train, and motivate staff to uphold hospitality and service excellence
• Monitor food and beverage quality, working closely with chefs to maintain menu consistency
• Coordinate and prepare staff rosters, ensuring optimal coverage
• Address guest complaints promptly and professionally, enhancing the dining experience
• Collaborate with kitchen, suppliers, and other departments for efficient service delivery
• Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue, increase customer retention, and achieve business goals
• Maintain inventory control, including stock ordering and waste management
• Enforce health, safety, and hygiene compliance
• Conduct performance appraisals and manage team development

About You

To thrive in this role, you will:

• Have proven experience in restaurant management or senior hospitality roles
• Possess strong leadership and communication skills
• Be passionate about hospitality and providing exceptional guest experiences
• Knowledge of food and wine pairings is desirable
• Have a keen eye for detail and operational efficiency
• Be a team player with a collaborative mindset
• Have reliable transport to and from Yarra Glen
• Be flexible and available for varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Current RSA and Food Safety certificates
• WSET level 1 or 2 is advantageous
