About the role

GV Hotel is seeking a skilled and experienced Function & Entertainment Manager to join our dynamic hospitality team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all functions and entertainment events at our premier hotel located in Shepparton, Victoria.

What you'll be doing

Manage the end-to-end planning and delivery of functions, events, and entertainment at the hotel, ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests

Liaise with clients to understand their unique requirements and translate them into seamless event plans

Oversee the setup, catering, audiovisual, and staffing needs for each event

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and local entertainment providers

Prepare event budgets and monitor expenses to ensure profitability

Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the hotel's entertainment offerings and attract new clientele

Provide leadership and mentorship to the functions and events team

Ensure all events comply with relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

What we're looking for

Extensive experience (minimum 2 years) in a similar function and entertainment management role within the hospitality industry

Proven track record of successfully planning and delivering a wide range of events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to multitask and work under pressure

Proficient in event planning software and tools

Flexible and adaptable, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service

Passion for the hospitality industry and a genuine interest in creating memorable experiences for guests
