Location: Ellen Grove, Queensland

Key Requirements:

Strong communication skills to effectively engage and interact with individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges.

Excellent problem-solving skills to provide tailored support to meet the unique needs and goals of our clients.

A commitment to helping individuals achieve their individual goals and lead more independent lives.

Certificate IV or Above in relevant field (or equivalent experience)

Experience working with challenging behaviours and Restrictive practices

Knowledge of disabilities such as Autism and Intellectual Disabilities as well as mental health conditions like ADHD and OCD to provide structured, understanding and person-centered support.

A valid Queensland driver's license.

A Working With Children (Blue Card), and NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card) Checks or the ability to obtain one. (Note: A Blue Card is a requirement for working with children and vulnerable adults in Queensland).

Key Responsibilities: As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to individuals in the Greater Brisbane area. Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

Community Access Support: Assist clients in accessing their local community, participating in social activities, and building a sense of belonging.

In Home Support/ Supported Independent Living: Support clients in developing their skills and attending to tasks at home (including personal hygiene and grooming, household chores, booking and attending appointments etc)

Independent Living Skill Development: Help individuals acquire and enhance essential life skills, promoting greater independence and self-sufficiency.

Behaviour Support: This role requires supporting person/s with a Positive Behaviour Support Plan including Restrictive Practices. Experience in this area is required though training will also be provided.
