About the role

Are you passionate and committed to playing a key role in driving Aboriginal justice across the Department of Justice?

The Senior Policy Officer – Kimberley Juvenile Justice Strategy (KJJS), will utilise a co-design approach and develop local strategic partnerships with other state government agencies, the local government, and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, including other community groups to lead contribution to the KJJS. You will also be part of a dedicated Perth and Broome based cross agency and visionary team, needed to define, and guide analysis and reporting in relation to key elements of the KJJS.

About you

You will demonstrate proven experience working with Aboriginal people and communities in Western Australia and have an ability to demonstrate outcomes. You will be available to undertake intrastate and other travel as required.

You will also demonstrate the achievement of a range of results, build and forge strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, achieve results and exemplify personal integrity and self-awareness. You will be a strong and effective communicator who is persuasive and effective, achieving outcomes that benefit all.

The Senior Policy Officer provides assistance and support in the research, development and implementation of a range of initiatives. The incumbent will undertake comprehensive strategic research and analysis to shape and manage the Department’s strategic agenda with a particular emphasis on Aboriginal engagement initiatives and priority community projects.
