About the Role
We have an opportunity for a Therapeutic Practice Coordinator to join our team in our Tuggerah office in the Central Coast region. You will work directly within our regional Operations alongside leadership and front-line teams to support and guide the service in providing therapeutic care to young people we support informed by Safe Places for Children Integrated Practice Framework, evidence-based practice, and innovations in therapeutic, trauma-informed care.
The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will have oversight in the daily care of young people and play a key role in influencing case planning to ensure care decisions are made in the best interests of the young person and preferred models of care are consistently applied within the service and practice.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Behaviour Support planning. Develops and maintains Behaviour Support Plans for young people in collaboration with the team, the young person and relevant external stakeholders within the area of responsibility. Undertakes assessments of young people’s cognitive and learning abilities, living skills, emotional and mental health status and behavioural profile.
- Remains current with best practice in trauma informed care, legislative knowledge and licensing process.
- Help drive the implementation of the CARE framework
- Conduct consultations in our homes, engage with young people and their care teams to assist with the implementation of the therapeutic milieu.
- Promote Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
- Provide post-crisis support for front-line team members and operational leaders following critical incidents, including critical incident analysis.
- Facilitate case review functions at a local level to provide recommendations and expertise in care planning through Case Clinics, and associated documentation including PBSP’s in a way that drives quality outcomes and therapeutic care for our Young People.
- This role requires upholding confidential information in trust and confidence, working within Safe Places Vision, Mission, Values and Code of Conduct. There may also be the requirement to perform other duties as assigned by the direct line manager and travel to other Safe Places locations and/or undertake work outside standard business hours to observe, advise and/or offer support on the quality care of our young people (as required).
- Consult, as required, on intakes and referrals, including risk assessments and supporting the team to prepare the property and planning after a referral has been confirmed.

Experience/Personal attributes we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or related discipline or Diploma of Community Services (or related discipline) and minimum 2 years relevant experience.

- Solution focused, collaborative, clearly articulating and inspiring growth in others.
- Well-developed communication skills, including stakeholder presentation, consultation, and negotiation.
- Develop, review, and maintain Behaviour Support Plans for young people in collaborations with the team, young person and relevant stakeholders.
This role will be based in our Tuggerah Office on the Central Coast with occasional travel to Sydney.
Applicants must be eligible to live and work in Australia, hold an unrestricted driver's license, and be willing to undergo state-specific checks, including working with children clearance and relevant qualifications.
