About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Professional Collection Services as a Collection Officer. As a fulltime role based in Toowong, QLD, you will play a key part in the company's Accounts Receivable and Credit Control functions, ensuring the effective collection and recovery of outstanding customer payments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Proactively managing and resolving a portfolio of customer accounts with outstanding invoices
- Initiating and escalating collection activities, including making outbound calls, sending tailored correspondence, and liaising with customers to negotiate payment arrangements
- Maintaining detailed records of all customer interactions and collection activities
- Identifying and resolving any invoice discrepancies or disputes
- Providing recommendations to improve credit control processes and procedures
- Supporting the broader Accounts Receivable team as required
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a collections or credit control role, ideally within an accounting or finance environment
- Strong customer service and negotiation skills, with the ability to empathetically resolve complex customer issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to effectively liaise with customers at all levels
- High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Proficiency in using accounting and/or collections software
- A customer-focused approach and a genuine desire to provide a high level of service
