Status: Full Time, Maximum Term Contract (3 Years)
Classification: QLD Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017 - Level 8 (Over Award Rate)

About the role
Reporting to the Executive Manager Roads, Infrastructure and Essential Services, the Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end management of Operational and Capital projects to deliver Council's Operational plan. The role works closely with senior and operational leaders to ensure projects are delivered within the approved scope, budget, and timeline and that they comply with all relevant statutory, safety and Council requirements.
Qualifications and experience:
Project Management experience in a complex and diverse operating environment.
Experience in a building and construction environment.
Contract management experience.
Remote environment / aboriginal community experience
A good understanding of estimating and cost centre accounting processes & monitoring.
Effective communication and influencing skills.
Financial management experience/ workorders and purchase requisitions.
Demonstrated experience in managing safe work practices and a good working knowledge of all relevant legislation .
Desirable:
Diploma or higher in Project Management
Competence in the use of Project Management based computer technology.
Local Government experience / QBuild in particular
Current Queensland C Class driver’s licence (HR licence is desirable)
White Card
Current Builders Licence (not essential)

Kowanyama is a remote Aboriginal community and home to over one thousand residents. Kowanyama means "place of many waters" in the Yir Yoront language.
