About the Opportunity
Urapuntja Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (UHS) is seeking an experienced senior administrator for a permanent contract at our central health precinct located 270 kilometres NE of Alice Springs on the Urapuntja Homelands.
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the role is responsible for the daily administrative and IT functions of the Health Service including patient appointments/travel, Communicare database management and liaison with external IT provider, and supervision of administration/reception staff.

About the role
Support clinical team with timely coordination of test results, correspondence, and patient flow
Welcoming patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy
Managing appointment bookings, cancellations, and urgent clinical follow ups
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in Communicare software
Handling phone, email and front desk enquiries efficiently and compassionately.

Salary
Base Salary $79,131 to $90,343 per annum, plus superannuation (dependent on level of experience)
Retention bonuses from 3% to 8% (increasing over time)

Rostering conditions
a “swing cycle”/roster of 6 weeks working on site followed by 2 weeks paid leave

About You
Essential Requirements
Leadership experience to mentor and lead a diverse team
Highly developed cross cultural communication skills and willingness to take cultural advice from Aboriginal staff.
Awareness of/sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Effective use of Microsoft suite and ability to adapt to and learn new software packages
Experience in using a Patient Information and Recall System preferred
Strong adherence to document management procedures
Persistent approach to time management and process improvement
Demonstrated ability to establish effective collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the challenges of working and living in a remote area, where flexibility and regular travel is required
Ability to drive a manual vehicle, 4WD experience preferred
National Police Clearance (within 3 months), approved COVID-19 vaccination and NT Ochre Card (working with children) is mandatory for this position. We will assist with application and cost of checks.

The Urapuntja Health Service is in Amengernterneah, 23 km north of Arlparra, off the Sandover Highway. Our Health Service team (comprising Clinical, Facilities and Social Emotional Wellbeing Teams) provide services through our main clinic and Wellbeing Centre at Amengernterneah and as a mobile, outreach team, visiting 600-800 residents of 16 Homeland communities. The Health Service is set in an area of natural beauty, with comfortable accommodation for our staff including a well-equipped and modern clinic, a Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre, men and women’s centres, a mechanical workshop, and a gym.
