Eastern Plastic Surgery is seeking an energetic part time medical receptionist with a passion for customer service and patient care to join our vibrant team.
The applicant must have excellent presentation and communication skills and be great at multitasking and working in a busy environment.
As the first point of contact for this specialist private practice you will naturally make patients feel welcome upon entry with your friendly, confident, and sympathetic demeanour. You are someone who enjoys working in a team environment but strives independently when challenged during a busy consulting session.
Remuneration: $27 - $32 per hour + superannuation dependant on experience.
Part Time: Four days per week, with the potential to increase to five. (No weekend work)
Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting specialist consultants, occupational therapists and nurses during consulting.
Meet and greet of patients, ensuring they feel welcome and prioritised at all times.
Preparing for consulting sessions ensuring all forms are printed, rooms stocked and necessary items available for the coming days consulting.
Managing all incoming calls and minor patient enquiries
Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
Registering new patients and processing of data into medical software
Checking referral validity and chasing up missing referrals and results
Processing patient accounts and claims from Medicare and DVA
Maintaining patient files ensuring all documents are filed accordingly
Maintaining patient confidentiality with the utmost discretion when dealing with patients and colleagues.
Reporting directly to a practice manager and four plastic surgeons
Processing patient surgical bookings and explaining the information to patients. (training provided)
Administrative tasks such as:
Scanning and linking medical records
Processing faxes and emails
Printing and distributing letters to medical professionals.
Printing patient medical certificates, results, post operative information.
Desirable skills and experience:
Minimum of 1-year administrative experience and high computer and literacy skills.
Medical administrative experience highly regarded, although, not essential.
Previous experience with Gentu practice management software. If not, training will be provided.
A passion for customer service
Interest in the plastics and cosmetic industry with a desire to promote and maintain existing client relationships.
A genuine desire to provide high quality service to the surgeons, patients and referrers.
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A professional attitude and exceptional presentation
