We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our expanding finance team.

The opportunity

You’ll be a key part of a fast moving, collaborative finance team, working closely with the Finance Manager, and CFO, together with an Accounts Administrator and offshore support crew. You’ll be involved in supporting month-end processes, reconciling key accounts, validating data across systems, and contributing to process optimisation initiatives.

To be successful in this position you are someone who likes to 'roll up their sleeves' and take ownership of detail-rich, foundational work from the get go. This includes managing high volumes of transactions, solving problems as they arise, and navigating multiple systems.

Key responsibilities

Perform month-end reporting, account reconciliations, and journals

Process BAS, PAYG, and support payroll (as backup or reviewer)

Allocate and reconcile high volume cash transactions

Identify and resolve discrepancies through collaboration with other teams

Support implementation of new systems, and review / evolve work instructions for processes and procedures

Contribute to data integrity and validation across platforms

Provide assistance with business intelligence reporting and analysis

Support accounts payable functions

What we're looking for

Proven experience in a similar role with a solid understanding of financial processes

Analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset and the ability to manage competing deadlines

Degree qualified in Accounting, progressing toward / completed CPA or CA

Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills (e.g. Xero, Pronto)

Confident communicator who works well cross-functionally and independently

CRM experience desirable but not essential

Full Australian working rights required
