We’re seeking applications for experienced Project Managers to contribute to AWCON’s growth and help us maintain our position as a leading tier 1 Civil Construction Company.

The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute construction professional with a demonstrated history of executing major infrastructure projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Project Manager, you will be accountable for project delivery and execution. Key responsibilities of the role include:

Safety, Compliance and Execution

Comply with and actively demonstrate compliance with AWCON’s Quality, Safety, Environmental, and Execution Plans. Site lead in all aspects of promoting the AWCON ‘Keeping It Real’ program.

Ensure full adherence to legislative, company, and client compliance frameworks.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental awareness across all project activities.

Project Management

Apply management knowledge, techniques, and project control tools to effectively plan and deliver project requirements.

Develop and monitor execution strategies, work schedules, resourcing plans, and budgets.

Oversee the timely and accurate review and approval of the daily DCR’s and fortnightly payroll entries.

Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring alignment with approved plans and milestones.

Leadership and Team Management

Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to project teams, site engineers, and subcontractors.

Plan, coordinate, and monitor resources and tasks to meet project milestones and deliverables.

Ensure clear delegation of responsibilities and foster collaborative working relationships across the team.

Contractual and Scope Management

Administer AWCON and client/contractual Scope of Works, ensuring alignment with agreed project deliverables.

Manage changes in scope, schedules, or budgets and effectively municate implications.

Ensure compliance with all systems, policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions.

Delivery Accountability

Work collaboratively with the Civils Superintendent / Civil Lead to achieve safe, compliant, and high-quality project delivery.

Take shared accountability for achieving project budget, quality, safety, and schedule targets.

Lead risk management and problem-solving efforts to address construction challenges proactively.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

Communicate clearly with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Chair project meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior management.

Manage relationships to ensure client satisfaction and alignment with project goals.

Financial Management

Monitor project expenditure and forecast project costs against budget.

Approve procurement requests, subcontractor claims, and variation orders as per delegation of authority.

Work with commercial teams to minimize financial risk and enhance profitability.

Responsible for the accurate compilation and timely submission of monthly progress claims to the client, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and supporting documentation

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role with you require the following:

Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance, with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.

Proven experience with fixed-price project management (essential).

10+ years project management experience within the civil concrete field.

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Construction Management or relevant experience in managing large scale, complex, schedule driven projects.

Ability to clearly communicate project goals, expectations, and outcomes to a variety of stakeholders — from site teams to senior clients.

A team player who builds strong relationships and promotes a positive and accountable site culture.

Able to adapt to changing project conditions and demonstrate resilience under pressure, especially in fast-paced or high-risk environments
