POSITION DESCRIPTION OF BOOKKEEPER – RANDWICK MEALS ON WHEELS

Randwick Meals on Wheels Inc. is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the welfare and dietary needs of the aged, people with disabilities and their carers in the Randwick, Waverley and Bayside areas.

We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper that will manage essential financial duties, such as recording financial transactions on Xero accounting software , reconciliations, stock control, and processing payroll. We are looking for a person who has a strong attention to detail and a commitment to support our service.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

· Maintain financial transaction records by posting transactions, monitoring transactions, and identifying irregularities.

· Generating invoices and receipts

· Reconciliation of bank accounts and other accounts.

· Preparing monthly financial reports such as Profit and Loss statement and Balance Sheet.

· Preparing weekly wages

· Preparing and lodging BAS returns

· Maintenance and monitoring of stock records on the computerized software. Any variances are promptly investigated and reported.

· Utilize the appropriate accounting software to manage and automate financial tasks when relevant.

· Comply with the organisation policies and procedures.

· Any other task that may be required.

Bookkeeper Qualifications and Skills:

· Accounting or TAFE qualification required.

· Previous bookkeeping experience required.

· Experience in using Xero accounting software required.

· Good knowledge and experience with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools.

· Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.

· Knowledge of relevant tax requirements

Reports to: Service Manager and liaises with the Treasurer.

Hours of work: 15 hours per week

Wage rate: $35 to $45 per hour

Other: Police check required.
