Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant ready to contribute your skills to a purpose-driven organisation? This well regarded not-for-profit based in Bella Vista, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a part-time basis, 2–3 days per week. This is a hybrid (part wfh) temporary role with a potential to progress to permanent part time after approx. 6 months.

Assisting the Financial Controller, you will enjoy a variety of responsibilities including;

Accounts & Payroll

Manage daily transactions, accounts payable & receivable

Process payroll for 30+ staff with full compliance

Reconcile expenses, manage credit card & employee claims

Maintain fixed asset registers

Reconciliations & Compliance

Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

Prepare journal entries for accruals and adjustments

Assist with GST, IAS, FBT returns and compliance

Support audit, end-of-month and year-end processes

Reporting, Forecasting & Projects

Contribute to budgeting and cash flow forecasts

Prepare accurate financial reports and statements

Suggest improvements to enhance financial processes

Work across teams to support finance-related projects

Assist with finance system upgrades and ERP implementation

Maintain Chart of Accounts and cost centres

Your experience ideally includes;

3+ years in a similar Assistant Accountant role (incl. month-end duties)

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar

NFP experience a plus; progressing toward CPA/CA highly regarded

Strong Xero or MYOB skills

Advanced Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables)

Great communicator and a proactive problem-solver

Familiarity with regulatory requirements and system implementation
