The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Clinical Data Coordinator to join our multi-institutional team on the GLOW trial, a stepped-wedge cluster randomised implementation study aimed at reducing perioperative hypothermia and improving surgical outcomes. In partnership with Southeast Queensland hospitals and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, and funded by the NHMRC, this high-impact project needs your expertise. You’ll work closely with the Chief Investigator, Project Coordinator, and research team to support and oversee data collectors across five hospital sites, ensuring high-quality outcome evaluation. This role involves regular local travel between sites, so a flexible approach and Class C Queensland driver’s licence is essential.

- work professionally and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to project success.
About you:
You bring, or are keen to develop, strong health services research skills and thrive in collaborative, interprofessional team environments where clear and respectful communication is essential. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you manage your time effectively and take pride in maintaining accurate, high-quality data records. Your commitment to precision and consistency ensures that every task is carried out to the highest standard.
You will possess:
- Completion of a degree in nursing and current unrestricted nursing registration (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with at least four years relevant clinical experience. Experience and knowledge of surgical care would be highly regarded, as would postgraduate study;
- Demonstrated ability and experience in working with clinical data, including reviewing and auditing clinical records. Recent experience in using iEMR and working with Queensland Health clinical systems (particularly surgical systems) would be an advantage;
- Demonstrated ability in clinical data management, particularly within health services research and detailed knowledge of requirements for data management in line with internal and external policies; and
- Evidence of a high level of digital literacy, including experience with databases and spreadsheets and the ability to use software packages. Experience of using electronic data collection systems such as REDCap and Qualtrics would be highly regarded.
