Words and Beyond Speech Therapy is currently looking to employ a Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join an exciting, growing team!

We are currently a team of 7 inclusive of Speech Pathologists, Allied Health Assistants and Admin Support Staff.

Words and Beyond Speech Therapy is a fun and engaging Speech Pathology service for children. Sessions are primarily based at our beautiful, light and bright clinic in Doreen! We also offer visits to kinders and schools in Doreen, Mernda and surrounding suburbs, as well as, Telehealth services.

We are dedicated to working with children and their families, to develop their child's communication, play, literacy and social skills, using child led, family centred, evidence based practice.

About You

Experienced (1+ year) or new graduate Speech Pathologist

Have completed a relevant qualification in Speech Pathology with SPA membership

Have a passion for working with children

Experience working with children with a broad range of needs/abilities

Driven and motivated to provide quality therapy and support for children and families

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to be flexible and adaptive to the needs of clients and families

About the Role

Assessment and therapy for children aged 2-18 years old presenting with a range of speech and language abilities

Individual and group therapy

Opportunities to complete group therapy at local kindergartens for school readiness with a senior clinician

Clinical areas of pratice may include - Receptive language, expressive language, articulation (speech sounds), social skills/pragmatic language, literacy (reading, writing, spelling) and stuttering

Caseload - 4-5 clients a day (dependent on experience)

If you are a new graduate, we will reduce your caseload to begin with and gradually increase it with experience

Weekly/fortnightly mentoring (based on needs and experience) and supportive working environment

Fortnightly team meetings and early finishes on Fridays!

Clinic based with some local offsite sessions (Doreen, Mernda)

Part or full time roles: Monday - Saturday availability - we can be flexible with days/hours to suit you

10 hours of blocked out admin a week (2 hours per day for a full-time role and an additional admin hours for new graduate positions)

Reception/admin support for payments, invoicing and scheduling appointments

First aid course (if you don’t already have one)

PD budget of $1000 per year

Training and support in new/unfamiliar areas of practice

Flexible working arrangements including, flexible locations: clinic based or a mix of clinic and offsite. Flexible days/times to suit parents or other commitments.

Weekly/fortnightly mentoring (experience dependent) with a Senior Speech Pathologist

Petrol allowance (if completing offsite visits)
