Make a difference in children's lives in a supportive environment
Are you a passionate and skilled Speech Pathologist who loves working with children? I’m looking for a dedicated Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join my small, supportive practice in Keilor Park. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a personalised, one-on-one environment where you can make a meaningful impact on the speech, language, and communication development of children and adolescents, from 18 months to 17 years of age.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Assessing & Diagnosing: Conduct thorough assessments for children and adolescents (18 months to 18 years) to identify speech, language, and communication difficulties.
Developing Therapy Plans: Create individualised therapy plans tailored to each client’s needs—whether it’s early childhood language delays, speech sound disorders, or adolescent language challenges.
Therapy Sessions: Provide evidence-based, engaging therapy sessions that help children and teens improve their communication skills, boosting their confidence both in social situations and academic environments.
Collaborating with Families: Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers to provide feedback, guidance, and support, ensuring that therapy goals are met both in and outside of sessions.
Monitoring Progress: Track each child’s progress over time, adjusting therapy plans as necessary and celebrating their achievements.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client notes and progress reports in line with best practice guidelines.
About You:
Qualifications: You hold a degree in Speech Pathology and are registered with Speech Pathology Australia.
Experience: You have experience working with children and are familiar with common developmental delays and disorders.
Strong Communication Skills: You are confident in working directly with children and their families, building positive relationships and offering clear guidance.
Empathy & Patience: You approach your work with a patient, understanding, and compassionate manner, knowing that each child’s journey is unique.
Independent & Self-Motivated: I’m looking for someone who can work independently, take initiative, and manage their own caseload while being part of a close-knit, supportive team.
Why Work With Me?
Ongoing salaried position with above award wages
7 weeks of paid leave throughout the year (during school holiday periods)
Point of Difference: The practice is situated on an olive grove, and you will be working in a tranquil, quiet environment surrounded by nature whilst still only being a short walk to an abundance of cafes and shops in the Village of Keilor.
Personalised Support: I offer a more personalised work environment, where you’ll have the opportunity to be closely involved in shaping the practice’s direction and growth.
Flexible Hours: I can tailor the schedule to fit your lifestyle and preferences.
Professional Development: I’m committed to supporting your ongoing development through training opportunities and guidance as well as an annual professional development budget. I will provide new graduates with a weekly structured mentoring program to help guide them in their professional journey.
Autonomy & Growth: This is an opportunity to build your career while having the flexibility and independence that comes with working in a smaller practice.
Resources: You will have access to a library of resources, including assessments, games and a company laptop.
Healthy lifestyle: We all know that living a healthy lifestyle and eating organically are so very important to our personal well- being so you will have access to organic fruit and vegetables as well as fresh farm laid eggs whenever you need them
