The City of Karratha is seeking a proactive and community-minded individual to join our team as a Community Infrastructure Officer. This pivotal role supports the effective management of the City’s diverse community facilities, ensuring they are welcoming, well-maintained, and accessible to all.
Reporting to the Community Infrastructure Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in the administration of hire and lease activities across City-owned venues including community hubs, halls, ovals, and other public facilities. You’ll also provide support on small-scale projects that enhance community infrastructure and contribute to positive outcomes for local residents and user groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the hire and booking of City community facilities and administer lease agreements.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Monitor facility use, maintenance needs, and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Support the planning and delivery of minor infrastructure projects.
- Assist in financial and reporting duties including invoices, procurement, and budget tracking.
- Contribute to marketing and promotion of community spaces in collaboration with the City’s Public Affairs team.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in facility administration, leasing, or community infrastructure management.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a knack for building positive relationships.
- Sound organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of contract management, leasing procedures, and financial administration.
- A team player with a can-do attitude and a genuine interest in community wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in community facility management or local government (highly regarded).
- Knowledge of budgeting and procurement processes.
- C class driver’s licence.
- National Police Certificate (within 6 months).
