About the Opportunity

Youth Mental Health Initiative:
The Youth Mental Health Initiative is an exciting new initiative to improve early access to care for 12–25-Year-olds presenting to headspace services with severe and complex mental health needs and facilitate transition between services when needed.

The successful incumbents will be attached to the specialist mental health team, with time co-located within the headspace centre.

The staff will carry a case load as well as collaborating with headspace and the LHD to enhance youth mental health pathways and services. This will be achieved by collaborating with partner agencies, developing referral pathways and ensuring timely transition of care between the partner services.

Safeguards:
The Safeguards Child and Adolescent Mental Health Response Team is a brand-new, dedicated service is designed to support children and adolescents (ages 0-17) experiencing acute mental health distress, providing them with the urgent care they need.

As a Safeguards clinician, you’ll be part of a dynamic, mobile, and community-based team delivering rapid, intensive, and evidence-based interventions to help resolve mental health crises. You’ll work closely with children, families, and schools to provide wraparound support in the places they need it most—at home, in school, and beyond. You’ll also play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care, connecting young people with the right follow-up services and resources.

The Bankstown Mental Health Service is located in middle of Bankstown, a vibrant and multicultural community.

We are within walking distant to public transport, both buses and trains (5 minutes) from the Community Health centre. There is also free all-day parking and street parking available.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cutting-edge team and be part of a new service to deliver Mental Health support to young people and their families in our community. If you’re ready to make an impact and help shape the future of youth mental health care, we want to hear from you!
