About the role: As a Specialist Mental Health Clinician with us, you will get to use your qualifications and experience in mental health support to facilitate clinical governance direction, support and oversight in collaboration with the LHD Clinical Lead.
The HASI+ Specialist Mental Health Clinician works in close partnership with the Local Health District (LHD) HASI+ Clinical Lead and wider New South Wales Mental Health staff. Reporting to the Program Manager, this senior role will also provide training and education to HASI+ staff and develop and implement diversional therapy strategies and programs.
You'll have the unique opportunity to provide personalized clinical and psychosocial support to a small group of up to 10 participants. These supports include:
Holistic Care: Support the development of a multi-disciplinary approach, addressing both mental, psychosocial and physical health needs.
Proactive Health Measures: Encourage and implement pre-emptive strategies to manage co morbidity health conditions
Collaborative Partnerships: Work closely with participants, their significant others, psychiatrists, support agencies, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Team Support: Benefit from the guidance and collaboration of the LHD Clinical Lead HASI+ Nurse, who will work alongside you on-site.
About the service: The Housing and Support Initiative Plus (HASI+) Service provides accommodation, psychosocial support, daily living support and clinical care for people who require either 16 or 24 hours of support per day to maintain community living.
The HASI+ Service specifically targets people with mental health conditions who require high level and integrated supports to live in the community. Participants may include individuals transitioning from long-term or repeated stays in mental health inpatient units, as well as those being released from NSW Correctional facilities after completing a custodial sentence.
Hours and location: Based onsite in Kempsey, this is a full-time role for 76 hours per fortnight from Monday-Friday. A Tuesday-Saturday schedule is available with negotiation and penalty rates are applicable to Saturday work. There is no night shift work required. The role is funded until 30th June 2027 with potential for extension.

Qualifications and checks
University level qualifications or higher in Counselling, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Psychology with membership of a peak body such as AHPRA, AASW, ACA or PACFA.
Current driver's licence, a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Working with Children Check and First Aid certificate
Professional skills and experience
A minimum of five years’ experience working as a professional in a mental health care setting proactively case managing co-morbidly of participants with mental and physical health conditions
Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based interventions and contemporary therapies of the treatment and management of mental health disorders
Experience training and supporting other staff with best practice clinical methodologies.
Demonstrated high proficiency using the Microsoft suite, a variety of databases and video conferencing applications

This role will be remunerated at SCHCDS Level 8 $63-65ph. This is a package including superannuation of 140-146k with access to salary packaging to potentially increase your take home pay by another 5k.
