An exciting position exists for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to work within the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District MHS Pathways to Community Living Initiative.
The Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) is a state-wide strategy that is shaping complex care and community rehabilitation in mental health services in NSW. This initiative works with mental health services and community led organisations to develop pathways of care and services for people who have had or are at risk of long hospital stays and experience severe and persistent symptoms of mental illness. The program aims to ensure each person has the opportunity to live their lives in the community, to participate to the fullness of their lives and have access to well being, purposefulness and connectedness.

Selection Criteria:
- Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award Current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA including relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation; Recognised 4 year degree in Psychology, along with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Extensive experience in mental health clinical and vocational rehabilitation with knowledge of best practice principles and models of practice; and ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual and group rehabilitation programs
- Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation, and a strengths based and recovery focused approach in service provision
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
- Ability to provide in-depth advice, education and supervision to staff to enhance service excellence
- Ability to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel or complex nature
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement and service evaluation processes
- Current Class C NSW Driver’s License
