The Role
The position is based predominantly in a call room environment where you will be conducting assessments with people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing information and making referrals to accommodation and service providers. In this role, you will also conduct face to face appointments with clients who may be experiencing a range of complex issues including domestic violence, substance use, mental health and suicidal ideation.
- High volume service requiring your ability to build rapport quickly and engage clients via telephone
- Working closely in a small team environment supporting clients
- Daily entry of client notes into client management software
- Working on a rostered basis, totaling 152 hours over a four-week period, with shifts including 8:30am - 4:30pm, 9:00am - 5:00pm, and 11:15am - 7:15pm, including weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
Selection Criteria
- Successful completion of Tertiary level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related disciplines. (Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Diploma qualification will not be accepted for this role).
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role (for Level 5 role).
- Demonstrated high quality assessment and interview skills.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence and resilience.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and working effectively with young people, individuals, couples, and families, who may be faced with multiple, complex issues.
