About our Client:

Located in Pinkenba, QLD, our client is an Australian owned company has become a leading supplier of reinforcing steel products and services across the East Coast, with operations in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. They offer a comprehensive range of steel reinforcement solutions, including reinforcing bars, mesh, prefabricated steel, and accessories, catering to projects from residential to light commercial. They utilise advanced technologies, such as automated machinery for steel processing and specialized German software for bar scheduling, ensuring full traceability from raw material to delivery.

What you will be doing:

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for every stage of the production lifecycle — from processing of steel reinforcing, stock control, site safety to the final delivery, all whilst ensuring our products meet the expectations of a demanding and fast-moving customer base

You will also be tasked with the below:

Oversee all facets of production ensuring output that meets quality and safety standards.

Use cutting-edge automated equipment

Recruit, train, and lead top-tier production and warehouse staff

proactive OH&S leadership

Supervise and schedule regular maintenance of critical equipment to keep operations running smoothly and prevent downtime.

Oversee responsibilities including team performance, workplace culture, and industrial relations.

What you will need

To be successful in this role, you will need a deep understanding of the steel processing industry or similar sector that services the construction industry. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands high energy, meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to team success. Your ability to inspire, communicate effectively, and maintain operational discipline will be key to delivering consistent results for our clients.

• Proven experience in a leadership role - ideally within the steel reinforcing industry

• In-depth knowledge of construction and manufacturing processes

• Mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-demand production environment

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)

• The ability to motivate teams and foster a culture of operational excellence

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field

• Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the steel reinforcing or related manufacturing sector, with demonstrable
