We are seeking an experienced Head of Research and Development to lead our R&D division and drive the development of next-generation solar cell and module technologies
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and lead the implementation of strategic R&D plans and technology roadmaps aligned with the company’s innovation goals and business development strategy.
· Oversee the design, prototyping, and commercialization of cutting-edge solar cell and module technologies, including IBC, HJT, and perovskite tandem cells.
· Establish and manage high-performance R&D laboratories and a dedicated PV module reliability testing facility.
· Drive cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth technology transfer from lab-scale development to full-scale manufacturing.
· Monitor global trends and breakthroughs in photovoltaic technologies and convert insights into practical research initiatives.
· Mentor and lead a team of researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
· Establish and oversee the company’s Intellectual Property department, including patent portfolio development, risk intelligence analysis, and IP strategy.
· Lead successful filing and management of patents to strengthen the company’s technological competitiveness.
· Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, including IEC, ISO, and environmental and safety standards.
· Report on R&D performance, project outcomes, and strategic recommendations to the executive leadership team.
What We Are Looking For
· PhD in the fields of Electro-Optical Science and Engineering, Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering or Solar Energy Engineering. Research experience or doctoral dissertation topic on the solar cell/module related fields.
A highly experienced R&D leader with 10+ years of experience in the solar energy or advanced energy technologies sector.
Proven expertise in solar cell design, photovoltaic materials, and module development (e.g., IBC, HJT, perovskite, PERC).
Strong leadership and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead multi-disciplinary R&D and Process Integration teams.
Familiarity with technology transfer processes and experience bringing innovative technologies to commercial readiness in mass production above 10GW scale.
Solid understanding of international PV standards, reliability testing protocols, and industry best practices.
Experience in building IP department and establishing strategies and managing patent portfolios.
Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
