About the role

Are you a strategic planner with a knack for project scheduling and resource optimisation? Water Corporation is seeking a permanent Specialist – Project Scheduling to drive effective planning, forecasting, and scheduling across the Environment Business Unit (EBU). This role ensures project initiatives are scheduled, executed efficiently, and aligned with business goals.

This role will be based in our Leederville office and will report to the Team Leader –Technical Advisory within the Approvals, Regulation and Performance Section of the Environment Business Unit.

What the role will involve

  • Implement and manage forecasting and scheduling processes to keep projects on track within budget and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain project schedule templates to support internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the creation and management of a master schedule, ensuring realistic short- and long-term planning.
  • Establish reports and dashboards to provide visibility on resource demands and project performance.
  • Optimise Environmental Approval Delivery, delivering high-quality analytics and KPI reporting.
  • Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities to improve project execution.
  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration, ensuring seamless integration of environment scheduling into broader corporate processes.
  • Advise and coach teams on best practices in project planning to enhance operational efficiency.

Key skills and experience

  • To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Degree in business, commerce, environment, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling, and managing complex projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools.
  • Ability to analyse data, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in change management to embed new planning strategies.
  • High attention to detail with a results-driven approach.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Excel desirable but not essential.
