We are seeking an experienced Chef/Cook to run our purpose-built and fully-equipped onsite kitchen at our beautiful childcare centre, Children First Fairfield Central.

This is a permanent part-time role, working 6:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday with no weekend work!

The successful applicant will:

Have experience and a strong passion for planning, preparing, cooking and presenting a wide variety of nutritious foods that are suitable for children aged 4 months to 6 years old.

Have completed relevant vocational qualifications in Commercial Cookery.

Hold a valid Employment Working with Children Check.

Have experience working in a childcare kitchen environment.

Have confidence to manage a kitchen.

Be experienced in developing a rotating and exciting menu for children, including those with allergy and intolerance requirements.

Be a reliable, positive and well-organised person.

Provide a barista service to families. On the job training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Enjoy working with children, families and colleagues.

In your new job role, you will be responsible for:

Preparing nutritious and on-time meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

Preparing meals suitable for babies and children, including the preparation of purees and special dietary meals.

Menu planning in accordance with the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines.

Working in-line with budgets and building and maintaining relationships with local suppliers.

Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements.

Providing a barista service to families.
