Community Support Worker – Tewantin Community Support Centre

Youturn is looking for a friendly, capable Community Support Worker to join our Tewantin Community Services team.

This is a key role that combines front-desk engagement, administrative support, and team collaboration. You’ll be central to the smooth running of our Tewantin Community Support Centre, helping clients, staff, and community partners feel informed, supported, and valued.

About the Role

As a Community Support Worker, you'll be the first point of contact at our centre—welcoming community members, answering questions, and supporting day-to-day office operations. You'll work closely with Youturn’s Community Services team to ensure the space runs efficiently and is well-equipped to support both clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support & Office Duties

Perform a variety of admin tasks including:

Answering phones and managing emails

Filing, scanning, and data entry

Maintaining office and client databases

Managing mail (incoming and outgoing)

Prepare resources, complete errands such as shopping and postage, and manage office supply stock levels

Assist with room bookings and set-up for meetings and events

Ensure client-facing spaces (including the community kitchen and amenities) are clean, tidy, and welcoming

Support the upkeep of communal areas and maintain general housekeeping standards

Front Desk & Community Engagement

Provide a warm and professional reception experience to clients, stakeholders, staff, and community visitors

Respond to general enquiries and direct individuals to relevant services or team members

Offer assistance and support to community partners and volunteers delivering services at the Centre

Provide basic information and support to clients accessing the Centre for assistance

Team and Organisational Involvement

Work collaboratively with colleagues across Youturn’s community services

Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to improve service delivery

Support local events, forums, and community engagement activities

Uphold Youturn values in all interactions, showing empathy, professionalism, and inclusivity

About You

Essential Criteria

Holds, or is currently working towards, a Certificate III in Community Services (or similar relevant qualification)

Proven experience in a customer-facing or community support role, ideally with vulnerable populations

Confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong written and verbal communication skills—able to connect with people from all walks of life

Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities

Able to handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality

A compassionate and inclusive approach when working with people facing challenges

Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also thriving in a team environment

Willingness to take direction and contribute to a flexible, solutions-focused workplace

Other Requirements

Current C Class Open Driver’s Licence

Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Willingness to undergo a Licensed Care Suitability Check (or currently holds one)

Desirable

Knowledge of local community services and support networks in the Noosa/Tewantin area

Experience working in a multi-service community or support centre
