About the Peer Worker

Our part-time Peer Support Worker, (34 hours per week), provides support to individuals aged 18 years and experiencing a severe mental health condition, (either episodic or persistent.) This program is funded until 30 June 2027 and on a day-to-day basis you will:

Assist participants to recognise the journey of mental illness and recovery

Create individual recovery plans and provide individually tailored mental health support

Create innovative group activities which are recovery focused and based around participant interests

Maintain relationships with hospitals, health services and other providers

Promote mental health literacy in the community

To make a difference in this role, you will have:

The ability to work within a geographically dispersed team

Experience in facilitating small group workshops with either educational or practical content

A Certificate IV in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work or Community Services

A strong understanding of the individual recovery process

A Drivers' license and preparedness to drive within the region to deliver services

People with Lived Experience or current Experience are encouraged to apply
