As a Graduate Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of land development and authority projects in North East Victoria. This role provides hands-on experience across civil engineering, infrastructure planning, and subdivision processes, with opportunities to develop technical proficiency and expand your skillset through training and collaboration. You will be expected to take initiative in managing your projects and task list while receiving guidance and support from experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the design, drafting and review of civil works, including but not limited to roads, drainage, sewer and water infrastructure.

Conduct site inspections, surveys, and assessments to support project planning and design.

Prepare and submit service applications for subdivisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with senior engineers, town planners, surveyors and developers to ensure alignment with local, state, and national regulations.

Learn and utilise engineering software relevant to civil design, service applications, and project management.

Take instruction from experienced colleagues and actively apply feedback to improve technical skills.

Self-manage assigned projects and job lists, ensuring timely completion while seeking support when required.

Supervise construction activities and conduct technical inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements

Liaise with local councils, catchment management and water authorities to facilitate approvals, compliance, and project coordination.

Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and documentation for planning applications.

Support the coordination of contractors and consultants for project execution.

Stay updated with industry standards, legislation, and best practices relevant to land development in Victoria.

Provide assistance to the planning team with planning, drafting and service application/engineering queries where required

Key Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor Civil Engineering.

Willingness to learn and adapt to engineering software such as PowerCivil, OpenSite, RORB, MUSIC and service application platforms.

Understanding of or willingness to learn about Australian land development and infrastructure standards

Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn about Victorian planning regulations and subdivision processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills for stakeholder collaboration – in person, via phone, email and the written report form.

Demonstrated ability to take instruction and learn from colleagues to enhance professional development.

Ability to self-manage projects and job lists with a proactive approach while seeking guidance when needed.

Commitment to continuous learning and skill improvement.

Bonus would be having worked in the industry previously and having experience with stormwater design and software from university or previous work experience.
