Position Title: Store Manager
Reports to: Senior Store Manager/Branch Manager
Direct Reports: Assistant Store Managers, Customer Service Representatives
$75,000 + Super + Car
Location: Chatswood, NSW
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
As the Store Manager, you will be the driving force behind your store’s performance, leading both the team and the day-to-day operations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the seamless preparation, delivery, return, and upkeep of our vehicle fleet while inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence every single day.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about people, logistics, and making things happen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of 2–10 staff members.
Oversee all in-store operations including vehicle preparation, dispatch, returns, and maintenance.
Prioritise and coordinate daily workflows to meet business targets and customer expectations.
Drive excellence in vehicle presentation and turnaround times.
People Management
Inspire a positive, customer-focused culture within your team.
Deliver on-the-job coaching and ongoing training for new and existing staff.
Address escalated customer concerns professionally and promptly.
Support the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
Customer Experience
Ensure every customer and referral partner receives top-tier service.
Foster strong relationships with clients, partners, and local community stakeholders.
Resolve complex service issues with a focus on solution and satisfaction.
Business & Financial Accountability
Manage the store as an effective cost centre, contributing to overall profitability.
Monitor KPIs and store performance metrics, driving continuous improvement.
Generate accurate and timely daily activity and performance reports.
Compliance & Safety
Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring all staff follow WHS policies and procedures.
Identify and report hazards, near misses, or incidents promptly.
Ensure all activities are compliant with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
DECISION MAKING & AUTHORITY
Oversee daily store operations, staff rostering, and facility management.
Make key decisions around service delivery and customer resolution.
Lead staff development and drive WHS compliance across the team.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
A full and valid driver’s license
2+ years’ experience in a leadership or customer-facing role (vehicle rental or fleet experience is highly valued)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven problem-solving ability in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach
Ability to lead and inspire a team toward common goals
Tech-savvy, with strong admin skills and ability to adapt to new systems
Physically capable of assisting with vehicle preparation when needed
Knowledge of logistics, dealerships, or the motor trade is a plus
