ICT Infrastructure Manager
Are you ready to lead and safeguard the digital backbone of one of NSW’s most culturally vital institutions? Museums of History NSW (MHNSW) is seeking a proactive and visionary ICT leader to oversee and enhance our infrastructure, assets, and cybersecurity. In this pivotal role, you’ll take ownership of our ICT environments—ensuring robust performance, security, and continuity while driving innovation and excellence. From managing critical infrastructure and leading risk mitigation strategies to overseeing disaster recovery and cyber incident response, you’ll play a key role in keeping MHNSW connected, secure, and future-ready.
What the opportunity is:
- Employment with Museums of History NSW.
- Clerk Grade 9/10. Remuneration package includes salary ($125,693 to $138,510), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Ongoing full-time employment.
- The role will work across Sydney.
What we do
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.
What you’ll do with us
You will lead the management and security of MHNSW’s ICT infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, compliant, and secure. Your role includes overseeing assets and facilities, managing infrastructure projects, improving operational procedures, and maintaining disaster recovery and cybersecurity plans to support business continuity and performance.

What you need to do to apply
To apply you will need to submit the following:
- A one to two page cover letter outlining how your skills and experiences meet the essential requirements for this role,
- A current resume listing two referees, and

What you need to tell us - Targeted questions:
- Provide an example of when you have been accountable for the management and administration of several platforms to establish Cyber resilience.
- Describe a time when you implemented a change across the ICT landscape, and you had to take ownership to troubleshoot a solution to resolve an unforeseen protocol change.
Essential requirements of the role
- Degree or post-graduate qualification in ICT and relevant IT Service Management or Architecture certification/s or equivalent highly desirable
- Proven experience and knowledge of ICT core infrastructure technologies including server, storage, and network hardware/software.
- Comprehensive cyber security experience and knowledge.
- Excellent project and resource management skills with well-developed interpersonal, advocacy, oral and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in effectively managing multiple resources, staff and other business units in a technical environment to achieve outcomes within tight time frames.
- Experience in handling relationships between various level of ICT management and users of large systems and providing direction to management and staff in a multi layered and multiple sites corporate environment.
- A clear understanding and commitment to core NSW public sector values of EEO principles including cultural diversity, equity and ethnical practice; and a healthy, safe and fair workplace; and capacity to lead staff in implementing these values.
- Willingness to work across and ability to travel to multiple work locations.
