Boundary Island Brewery is situated on the waterfront at the Mandurah Quays Marina overlooking the stunning Peel Estuary.

With a relaxed and fun culture, the Boundary Island Brewery is a ‘must visit’ destination when in Mandurah and includes an on site brewhouse, sky deck overlooking the marina, stunning indoor and outdoor fireplace, brand new Texan smoker, woodfired pizza oven, balcony for long lunches, relaxed undercover alfresco area and more.

Since opening in January 2022, the Brewery has exceeded all expectations. Having received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Champion Small Brewery award, a Gold Plate award, and awarded the Best Large Business in the Peel region, the Boundary has gone from strength to strength, and in response to this growth, we are now looking to expand our operations and require a Front of House Venue Manager to join our team.

About the role

Our staff are the heart and soul of our brewery, and we are seeking an exceptional leader to inspire, guide, and elevate our team. We want someone who can drive our brewery forward, foster a positive and inclusive culture, and help us reach new heights of excellence.

The successful candidate will have management and operations experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in fast-paced environments that demand multitasking and effective prioritisation. MOST importantly, you will have a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations. This hands on role will focus on staff training & development, implementing policies and procedures to streamline operations and ensuring a high standard of service delivery. Key duties include but not limited to:

Oversee the day to day operations of the bar and restaurant

Train & supervise FOH staff

Ensuring OHS & RSA standards are always met

Motivate our team to increase productivity, increase job satisfaction & ensure a positive and happy environment for employees and guests alike

Problem solving, including but not limited to staffing, patrons and logistics.

Implementing & maintaining key policies & procedures

Promote and maintain a consistent and high level of customer service, including managing customer grievances by working closely with guests, listening to their feedback and working to resolve any complaints in a prompt and professional manner

Oversee the rostering of staff and manage staffing levels on a daily basis

Overseeing the purchasing and receiving of stock and FOH consumables

Overseeing the reservation system (Now Book It) and seating of patrons

Efficiently use and update the point of sale (Impos), eftpos, electronic ordering system (Mr Yum) and cash handling

Actively find ways to lower operational costs and increase efficiencies

Ensure all sections of the restaurant and bar are clean, tidy and maintained

Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation

Implement events and specials to promote the venue and its products, such as new beer releases, Melbourne Cup etc

Attend executive meetings, providing reports and feedback on all areas of operations

Qualifications, experience & job requirements

2+ years experience in a similar role

3+ year leadership and staff management

Strong administration skills including sound knowledge of Microsoft suite and POS programs

Highly experienced in all areas of Front of House operations, including bar, in a high volume, fast paced venue

Current WA Approved Managers Qualification and Red Card

Current Workplace 1st Aid Certificate

Current unrestricted Drivers License & own transportation

Excellent communication skills

Positive, enthusiastic and caring personality

Available to work weekends and evenings
