About the role
Reporting to the General Manager as our Front of House Manager you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all front-of-house operations, management and training off staff, operational efficiency and a seamless and positive experience for our guests. This full-time position is pivotal in driving the success of our bustling beachside cafe. Our opening hours are 6:30am - 4:00pm, 7 days a week, no night work or split shifts required.
What you'll be doing
Reporting the general manager and leading by example to our front of house team you will be responsible for:
Managing and leading all front-of-house staff, including servers and baristas, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient workflow
Upholding company front-of-house policies and procedures to ensure consistently great guest experiences and optimise operations
Managing reservations and coordinate table seatings to ensure a smooth flow of service
Addressing customer queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, resolving issues to maintain customer satisfaction
Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure menu items are consistently prepared and presented to the highest standards
Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of front-of-house supplies and equipment, reporting to general manager
Train and develop front-of-house staff, providing guidance and feedback to enhance their skills and performance
Assist with scheduling for the front-of-house team
Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives to drive customer traffic
Opening and closing the cafe
Assist General Manager in stock ordering and control, rostering and planning
Desirable Skills + Experiences
Minimum 3 years of experience in a front-of-house management role, preferably in a busy cafe or restaurant environment
Ability to lead from from the front and manage staff and general operations whilst executing service.
Exceptional customer service skills, personable, welcoming and friendly
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Proficient in inventory management and scheduling
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to keep cool under pressure and handle multiple tasks throughout a busy service
Thorough understanding of food and beverage operations
A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences
Experience in Barista/drink service operations
