Now Careers client is a reputable and leading steel fabrication business known for delivering high-quality, custom steel solutions across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors, HVAC projects are a core part of their business. They are seeking a skilled and technically minded Estimator to join their team.

About The Role
• Ensure all quoted jobs reflect accurate labour hours, materials, and factory time requirements
• Maintain a strong commercial focus to ensure quotes are competitive and profitable
• Confirm customer needs are fully understood—eliminate ambiguity and grey areas in project scope
• Develop, enhance, and maintain quoting infrastructure, tools, and templates
• Build and refine internal systems and processes to streamline estimating and workflow efficiency
• Coordinate with the Drafting & Engineering team to generate required drawings when missing or insufficient
• Contact customers for clarification and additional detail when needed
• Use and develop macros and quote sheets—advanced Excel skills are essential
• Conduct time and motion studies and audits on the production floor to validate estimating accuracy
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the department
• Ensure high standards of customer service; handle issues and complaints professionally and promptly
• Support daily KPI achievement and team engagement
• Provide training and mentoring to support development within the team
• Maintain supplier and trade partner relationships
• Attend and contribute to industry events aligned with company vision and strategy
• Uphold WHS policies and contribute to a safe, compliant work environment
• Perform other duties as required by leadership or interdepartmental needs

Qualifications & Experience:
• Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, or equivalent trade qualification
• Strong MS Office experience, particularly Excel (including macros)
• Familiarity with quoting software, automation tools, and AI-based enhancements a plus
• General mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication workflows
• Experience in steel fabrication, construction, or manufacturing estimating preferred
• Competence with technical drawings and job costing
