The Opportunity:

We’re seeking an experienced GP VMO or Career Medical Officer In Charge to provide solo emergency cover at a busy regional Emergency Department within the Hunter New England Local Health District. You’ll be the sole doctor on shift, supported by onsite teams and retrieval services.

• Up to $3,000 per shift (day or night)
• Shift times: Day 08:00–20:00 | Night 20:00–08:00
• Onsite presence required for the full shift, excluding designated breaks
• Accommodation provided
• Travel reimbursed up to $800 (flights or mileage)
• Fleet car available on request
• 2 mandatory rest days for locums working 7+ consecutive on-call days

• Diverse, high-acuity ED presentations in a regional hospital setting
• Supported by anaesthetics, gynaecology, and remote retrieval teams
• Strong collaborative model with local GP/VMO networks

• AHPRA Registration
• NSW Working with Children Check
• National Criminal Record Check
