What’s the role all about?

With a national footprint and a mission to provide agile, accurate, and people-focused care, we’re seeking expressions of interests for a driven, collaborative leader to take the reins as our Deputy Operations Manager – Collections across the Perth metropolitan area.
As our new Deputy Ops Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat behind the scenes, ensuring our accredited collection centres run like clockwork. Working hand-in-hand with our Team Supervisors, you’ll lead people, processes, and priorities with purpose and energy.
Think: strategic thinking meets daily hustle. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who’s as comfortable planning rosters as they are rolling up their sleeves to problem-solve, coach, and connect.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead, coach and support a team of passionate collection staff
Allocate resources (people, supplies, equipment) to where they’re needed most
Keep our quality standards sky-high (because excellence matters)
Champion training and ongoing development for team members
Own performance metrics, risk actions and compliance (and drive continuous improvement like a pro)
Handle scheduling, reporting, and the occasional curveball with cool-headed confidence
Collaborate with healthcare providers to streamline patient care and specimen management
Participate in the weekend on-call roster and cover for Supervisor’s leave when needed
What You Bring:
A Degree or Diploma in Business Management, Health Sciences, or equivalent experience
Excellent communication, empathy, and a love for mentoring
Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse team of staff
Strong problem-solving capability and excellent attention to detail. Must have strong work ethic, demonstrate reliability in all aspects of the role.
Certificate III in Pathology Collection (or equivalent). This is desirable but not essential
A current driver’s licence (yes, you’ll be on the move)
Confidence using technology in a healthcare environment
