Langtree Consulting Engineers was established in 2016. We currently service Council’s, Town Planners, Developers, Contractors, Mining and Quarry Companies as well as the general public across North and Central Queensland. There is a highly diverse set of problems and facets of civil engineering that are dealt with on a weekly basis.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Graduate Civil Engineer to join us at Langtree Consulting. You’ll play a key role in assisting Senior Civil Engineer to deliver high quality deliverables on projects. This role would suit someone who is eager to develop their skills and career in a dynamic team environment. Expect to see a rapid onset of progression from Day 1. This position offers a pathway to high 3D civil modelling, exposure to essentially all facets of the civil engineering industry and an opportunity to develop the essential experience required to perform at a high level within the field.

You will be gradually exposed to industry standard tools such as MUSIC, DRAINS, Civil 3D, SIDRA, etc. These are core programs that will set you up for success within your career as an engineer.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The position of Graduate Civil Engineer exists to:

Undertake and manage civil engineering consulting tasks from the definition of client requirements, task planning, monitoring and control of scope.

To primarily undertake the following tasks (but not limited to):

Coordination, planning design & construction of Civil Works

Engineering investigations

Writing reports & project briefs

Project management

Contract administration

Assist the Senior and Principal Civil Engineer in delivering excellence to clients in addition to business development and delivery of business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Expertise and Quality

a. To work effectively in multi-disciplinary project teams.

b. Maintain a knowledge and understanding of trends in civil engineering design, project management and contract administration.

c. Undertake engineering tasks to ensure a high level of accuracy and efficiency according to the company standards of operation.

d. Adhere to company guidelines for task management to ensure works are undertaken and services delivered to the highest possible standard.

e. Ensure all aspects of the quality management system are followed.

2. Internal Relationships

a. Work as a key supporting member of the Engineering Team and Contractors regarding project outputs.

b. Attend meetings and participate as a team member.

c. Communicate in an effective and professional manner, both verbal and non- verbal.

3. Client Relationships

a. Build and maintain close relationships with clients, in association with the Senior Engineering Team

b. Provide excellence in customer service to ensure client expectations are exceeded.

c. Demonstrate a genuine interest and commitment towards outcomes, ensuring customer objectives are met at minimum acceptable technical standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Degree in Civil Engineering

Current Qld Drivers License

Exposure to client management

Commitment to and genuine interest in the provision of excellence in client service.

Developing project management capabilities

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.

Organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to timeframes and meet fee budgets

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software.

DEMONSTRATED BEHAVIOURS

A professional approach towards communication and personal presentation

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Understanding of quality management systems
