About Us Salford College is seeking a dynamic ICT Business Analyst to join our technology team and drive digital transformation across our educational operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of educational technology in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Position Overview We are looking for an experienced ICT Business Analyst to bridge the gap between our business requirements and technical solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the college to analyze, design, and implement technology solutions that enhance our educational delivery and operational efficiency.
Role Description
Ÿ Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from various college departments including academic, administrative, and student services through stakeholder interviews and workshops
Ÿ Analyse existing ICT systems and infrastructure to identify gaps, evaluate software solutions, and design system integrations between student information systems and administrative platforms
Ÿ Lead and coordinate ICT projects from conception through delivery, managing timelines, budgets, and ensuring solutions meet business requirements and quality standards
Ÿ Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams, provide training and support to end users, and present findings to senior management
Ÿ Monitor system performance post-implementation, identify opportunities for process optimisation, and ensure compliance with educational regulations and data protection requirements
Skills and Qualification required
Ÿ Effective stakeholder engagement along with critical thinking- you are likely to deal with stakeholders at all levels of the company and reporting to the CEO
Ÿ Strong business understanding and commercial acumen- The ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with teams to solve business challenges
Ÿ Problem solving and decision making- The ability to understand and analyze problems and find solutions. The ability to make decisions around things such as requirement prioritisation, scope, assessing viability of solutions etc.
Ÿ Excellent communication and inter-personal skills- Requirement gathering is a key part of the role so the ability to ask the right questions and correctly understand the information received is essential
Ÿ Strong technical knowledge, related to system integrations- You will find yourself creating business requirement documents. The ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and to manage stakeholder meetings
Ÿ Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or information technology.
Ÿ Postgraduate such as a Master of Business Administration is desirable.
Ÿ Minimum 1-3 years of prior work experience is essential
